It all started when…

I was working in a hospital in Ho, Ghana while in undergrad as a pre-med student. This hospital was started by an OB/GYN, so many of the patients were pregnant women. Here, I witnessed my first births, natural and c-sections. I also experienced women dealing with obstetrical issues and miscarriages as well as pregnancies with twins. This experienced opened my eyes to the world of maternal and infant health and birth work, and I immediately fell in love. This led me to getting my Doula and Childbirth Education certifications while completing my Master’s in Public Health with a focus in Maternal and Child Health.

I plan to devote my career and life to working with pregnant women. My hope is for women and their partners to feel more confident and comfortable with the pregnancy and birth experience, and for them to have the birth experience that they want. I can help to achieve that through education, physical and emotional support, and advocacy as my role as Doula and Childbirth Educator.

I grew up in Jackson, OH, and currently live in Gallipolis, OH with my husband and three dogs. I have a passion for bringing supportive maternity care to this area and throughout Appalachia.
